Welcome to Schooners!

This "Mom-run" program meets in the "Red Room" of Our Lady Star of the Sea Church at 1170 Shippan Avenue, Stamford.

This is a very informal and casual program -- the focus is really about separation from parents and socialization with peers. The program has been in existence for the past 10 years or so, and the teachers (experienced neighborhood nannies) have been involved with the program for several years and know many siblings of the children who attend from their past Schooners days. Although not affiliated with the church, Monsignor is kind enough to give us use of the church space.

The day consists of mainly of structured play, arts and crafts, outside time in the playground by the school, sing-alongs, snack time and simple games. The children love the opportunity to socialize, share toys and take turns. They practice their separation from their primary caregivers and primarily, have fun!  

There are two sessions choices: Either Tuesday and Thursday OR Wednesday and Friday.
Each day is two hours long beginning at 9:30AM and finishing at 11:30AM.
There are 10 children in each session with two teachers per session.

October 2011
Registration for 2011-2012 will begin.
Tuition (around $1000 for the year) is paid in 2 installments at the beginning of the school year (Sept.-June) with a deposit due beforehand.
There is also a 6-week long "summer camp" which runs three times a week from 9AM-12NOON from mid June to the end of July for children who have been in the program the previous year.

A requirement of children is they must be 2 years of age by December 31st of the year they enroll.
They do not have to be toilet trained.

Registration for the 2011-2012 is currently filled.
Registration for the 2012-2013 year will begin on October 1, 2011
