The religion program fosters the OLSS mission and motto to have the students see Christ's reflection in all they do. Religious education is a continuous thread that is integrated throughout the curriculum. The math curriculum seeks to develop students problem-solving strategies, critical thinking abilities and life skills as they relate to mathematics. Our Social Studies curricula develop and enhance students understanding of the community, the world and all its cultures.Students at all grade levels receive reading instruction and also engage in whole group instruction when the teacher introduces literature from anthologies. English language arts instruction includes English grammar, spelling, vocabulary, handwriting, speaking and listening. OLSS has a strong curriculum in earth science and environmental science, due to the school's location on the Long Island Sound, a natural classroom.
