K-5 Grade Level Program

At OLSS, the students are active participants in the learning process. Our large, light-filled classrooms provide a dynamic educational environment for our children and both traditional and innovative teaching methods are used throughout the academic program. Our seaside campus is a natural laboratory for the study of biology, botany, and ecology, and our children can draw, paint, and sculpt in our art and science room.

The diverse backgrounds of our multi-cultural student body bring to life the study of history, geography and civics, and these subjects can be further explored in our on-line library and Spanish language program. In our state of the art technology lab, computers are employed to advance the students' proficiency in all subject areas. A variety of instruments and sounds are introduced in weekly music classes, and the students display their talents through song at various concerts. Our full size gymnasium is a show case for building endurance and cooperating with teammates during physcial education classes and after school activities.

In addition to classroom study, monthly enrichment programs are themed to complement the curriculum and multiple field trips to cultural events are scheduled each year.
